Oechsle Hall and Pfenning Alumni Center
Many challenges were involved in the renovation of a former turn-of-the-century architecturally historic athletic building into a state-of-the-art science facility and the construction of the new Alumni Center. These issues included a restricted budget, program resolution, major structural modification issues, and complex laboratories. The overall project involved: (1) renovation of an existing ±60,000 SF athletic building into a new Psychology/Neuro sciences facility, and (2) construction of a new ±20,000 SF Alumni Center which was attached to the Psychology/ Neurosciences building. The renovation of the existing building included extensive structural work, a complete rebuild of all systems, new laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, etc.
