Acopian Engineering Center

The Acopian Engineering Center involved ± 90,000 SF renovation and additions to existing classrooms, laboratory facilities and administrative spaces. The work was accomplished in multiple phases while the College occupied the building and involved complete replacement of the mechanical, electrical and fire protection systems as well as a new exterior facade and new finishes throughout. Extensive efforts were required throughout the project to maintain the project budget.

Key Highlights:

Replaced the entire existing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. New systems were brought on line in first phase utilizing temporary connections to the existing systems throughout the phasing.

Construction of a new entrance addition and another addition that included a new elevator and code compliant egress stairs.

Updated the entire building to current ADA standards.

High sensitivity to noise and dust creating activities.

Maintained safe ingress and egress for all students and faculty throughout each phase of construction

Sustainability was a priority
