#TBT The most recognizable feature of the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD is the domed Chapel. Originally built between 1904 & 1908, Irwin & Leighton was hired to expand the chapel in 1940. This alteration allowed more than 2,500 midshipmen to be seated for worship.

The biggest health concern during the Depression Era was the ability to pay for medical care. Irwin & Leighton's longstanding relationship with the Federal Government kicked in in 1940 with construction of the Veterans Hospital in Bath, NY. #112yearsandcounting

#TBT During the 1930's private customer in the construction market were few. However, Irwin & Leighton established a very good relationship with the Federal Government. Hence the 1935 completion of the Post Office & Court House, United States Treasury in Wilmington, DE.

#TBT Built in 1930 by Irwin & Leighton, the 7 story Temple Medical Building was the first major building for what is now the @templemedschool campus. Situated at Broad & Ontario Streets the building stood for more than 85 years, until it was demolished by Temple in 2015.

#TBT Arch. Paul Phillippe Cret combined the best of his Ecole des Beaux-Arts schooling in Paris with an sense of modernity, in his 1930 design for the Fed. Res. Bank of Phila. Built by Irwin & Leighton, the location was added to the National Reg. of Historic Places in 1979.
